Welcome to the Ratemis Rattery web site!

Ratemis Rattery is located in Rockhampton, Qld, and started breeding back in June 2004.

I am dedicated to producing pets with wonderful temperament as well as interesting colouring and

markings. To this end I will only be breeding a few litters each year, so that I can spend the maximum

amount of time with each of the ratlets from when they are born.

About Rats

Rats make excellent pets! They are clean, extremely smart, and very social toward humans, making them

one of the best pocket pets out there. Of course, they are often greatly misunderstood --- many

people continue to associate them with the kind of rats you'd find in a sewer.

Rats are very social animals, and are most easily socialized with humans when they are young.

Therefore, it is important in their social development to have contact with humans from almost the

moment they are born.

Once you get a pet rat, you are hooked. They are wonderful to watch as they interact with each other and

with you. It is a privilege to own a rat and important to treat them with love. You will get back much

more than you put in. They are loyal and loving companions.

Note that I WILL NOT sell my rats as any kind of food.

These rats are companion rats only so snake feeders and feeder breeders need not apply.
